Creating an experience for the 2% who just don't get it

Seth’s Blog is more for marketers than for tech people, but sometimes his words ring true for anyone developing and selling a tech product. And today’s post was particularly enlightening.

You can read that post here. Basically he says we have to account for the 2 percent of people who – no matter what – just won’t get what you’re trying to say.

So what the solution? How can we create messaging or a knowledge base or instructions so that they’re clear to 100 percent of our audience. You can’t, says Godin, so don’t even try.

He suggests instead that you create a back-up plan for those 2 percent and advises strongly against treating them like their business isn’t important. As programmers, support professionals, marketers and sales pros of SaaS applications, how can we plan for those 2 percent?
