But this article seems to take the SaaS/cloud thinking to the next level. Essentially, Mr. York identifies the current movement toward cloud as one that developed because everyone online accesses and uses the same application – the Web – and therefore software providers realized, “you could now aggregate customers around the globe onto a single Internet application.”
Taking this thinking to the next level, Mr. York identifies another shift prompted by SaaS:
“The shift we are seeing now is driven by increased interoperability on the server side, or rather application – application interoperability.”
This is the “giant leap forward,” he says. What do you think?
